I think this might be my favorite repair shop scam video this year. My viewer took their PS5 to a local repair shop after the HDMI port broke. The shop charged them their normal fee and then later an additional fee to try to fix the console but were never able to actually get it working. I hate it when my viewers get scammed - but it's going to happen so we might as well get some entertainment out of seeing what happened and if I can fix it. This video is from the 2nd Steam Deck I tried to fix - when they were still pretty new and finding parts was difficult. Still a fun project though. The seller said he tried to replace the SSD and ended up breaking off the speaker connector. I was hoping to be able to just replace the speaker connector but, like I said above, back in early 2023 those were difficult to buy so I had to get creative with this fix. When starting to diagnose this Nintendo Switch it would charge but nothing would show up on the screen. When I opened it up there was obviously liquid damage and whatever the liquid was left things pretty gross. Also, I could tell something had it apart already and had not put things back correctly.
