On 28 January, Data Privacy Day is observed around the world to raise awareness and promote privacy and data protection best practices. To mark this day, Muriel Holdrinet, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Corporate Legal Counsel & Vice Chair of the IATA Privacy Law Working Group, explains how airlines keep passengers' personal data safe while navigating a complex and diverse regulatory landscape with over 140 different laws that can hinder airlines' innovation and use of new technologies in air travel.
