There’s something about Initial D First Stage that hits different. This goofy scene where Takumi takes Iketani for a test run down Akina captures the soul of the series before the stakes got on a larger stage. I truly miss this era of the story. As the anime seasons progressed, the story gets more and more serious and we lose that classic feeling of just the guys hanging out on the touge as friends and being car guys.
