Bruce Springsteen used to tell a story about a particular post-9/11 encounter when he was in alone in a parking lot and someone yelled, “We need you now!” That, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer said, was the impetus for his 2002 album The Rising.

Bruce Springsteen is taking on Donald Trump and his “rogue government” on the American leg of his “Land of Hope and Dreams Tour,” the rocker announced on Tuesday.

The Newark concert will be Springsteen’s first home-state show with the E Street Band since his momentous performance at the Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park in September 2024.
