Reps. Owens, Maloy take Utah’s redistricting fight to federal court

President Donald Trump has entered the fight over Utah's congressional maps and redistricting, posting a message to social media in support of the fight to repeal Proposition 4.

Plaintiffs of a newly filed lawsuit say it is a necessary response to a breakdown in constitutional order that, if left unaddressed, will weaken representative government in Utah.

The Utah legislature has asked the state's high court to halt the recent redistricting ruling that ushered in a new map for the 2026 election, filing a stay for a permanent injunction to keep the status quo and use Utah's 2021 Congressional map instead.
