NBC's surprising return to a traditional pilot season might give some TV insiders a sense of nostalgia. But despite the desire to turn back the clock to a more fruitful time in network TV history, this is not an exact replica of pilot seasons past.

While Manifest may have concluded its turbulence-filled journey on Netflix, its lead star, Melissa Roxburgh, is making a grand return to Netflix next month. Her latest NBC procedural, The Hunting Party, is officially headed to Netflix US just as season 2 begins airing on NBC.

NBC is once again opting not to take advantage of the massive Super Bowl lead-out to promote a new, returning or pre-existing entertainment program. Instead, just like the network did in 2022, it will instead go right back to coverage of the Winter Olympics.
