This is the second year in a row Mason has been named the winner of area’s basketball’s highest honor. She won the award in the running with four other area girls basketball standouts, all of whom were on hand for The News-Herald’s basketball awards night March 24 at Hooley Pub & Kitchen.

The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association (OPSMA) announced its 2026 Division IV, V, VI and VII All-Ohio recipients for girls basketball on Monday afternoon, with a total of 15 Scioto County girls basketball players earning All-Ohio accolades between Divisions V through VII as announced by officials within the association and the OHSAA.

The Olentangy Orange girls wrestling team captured another OHSAA district title and dozens of central Ohio competitors advanced to state.
