Amazon rolls out three-hour and one-hour delivery nationwide, but customers will pay extra, even for essentials and everyday items.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced new one-hour and three-hour delivery options for thousands of products in the US. The update quickly went viral online, with many Indian users pointing out that quick-commerce platforms in India routinely deliver groceries and essentials in as little as 10 minutes.
Gayle Shields, chief merchandising and marketing officer for Winn Dixie, said the partnership aims to broaden access to the grocer’s products through delivery. Sophie Turrell, director of U.S. grocery partnerships at Amazon, said the companies are seeking to offer more options for customers shopping for groceries online.
